Workshops are hosted at Neighborhood Opportunity Network sites (NeONs) and other community venues. NeON℠ Arts grants of $6,000-$8,000 are available to nonprofit organizations and individuals to lead workshops and events October – December 2024. You can apply with or without a 501C3 or fiscal sponsor. Grants are selected by NeON stakeholders who are vested leaders in the community. For more information please contact: Renaissance Youth Center neonarts@renaissanceyouth.org (718) 450-3466 Expectations Projects take place October – December 2024 Grantees are expected to provide 2 hours a week of instructional/workshop time from October – December 2024. Renaissance Youth Center provides a meal and MetroCard’s to the participants. Grantees are expected to recruit young people for their workshop in collaboration with Renaissance Youth Center, NYC Department of Probation, and NeON Stakeholders. This may require several recruitment efforts throughout the round, including adding participants after the workshop has begun. Workshops must be in-person at a venue (community center, NeON, etc) in the NeON neighborhood for which you are applying. Renaissance Youth Center and the Department of Probation assist in securing the venue. Grantees will be required to host an in-person final event celebrating the work accomplished in their workshop. Renaissance Youth Center will deliver the iBelong socio-emotional learning workshops with young people citywide. Grantees and RYC will partner to find the best times to have these workshops. Grantees do not include these in their budgets. Grantees will effectively manage a budget of $6,000-$8,000 across 8 weeks.
