Programming at Renaissance

We have programming for youths and young adults

Renaissance Youth Center offers various programs in different disciplines including Science, Robotics, Tutoring, Coding,the Performing Arts and Civic Engagement. Many of the programs happen at the center in the South Bronx or at five of our sites. The Music on Wheels program works through the NYC schools offering music classes to NYC schools that have no internal music instruction programs.

Our goal is to maximize a youth's potential through programs in Education, Music and Civic Engagement. Through these disciplines we are able to help form well-rounded, driven youths and lead them towards a positive and fulfilled future.

We teach to enrich

Our programs not only bring enrichment and meaning to the lives of our students but also increase high school graduation rates and college entrance rates.

STEAM as a path to the future

Our STEAM programs have increased interest in these disciplines from participants as young as 5 years old.

A focus on what happens after school

99% of our afterschool participants qualify as Title I students (low-income). These programs have received top ratings by the NYC Department of Youth and Community Development.

Using music to drive positivity

Our band, Music with a Message (MWAM) has performed at over 450 events. 100% of the participants have graduated high school.

Bringing music to the classroom

86% of the schools that participate in the Music on Wheels programming report fewer behavioral incidents and issues with participating students.

Creating new paths for young adults

Our iBelong program has an 80% retention rate and a 100% high school graduation rate of those that stay active in the program.

Our civic engagement programs help youths realize that growing up is not all about self. Here we participate in activities that help individuals grow as a result of community engagement.
